The Finnish Blue Ribbon is an umbrella organization for 87 different Christian organizations whose core functions are walk-in support centers, residential treatment facilities and rehabilitation services. Three out of four of our member organizations provide one or more of these sorts of services, with the rest operating substance abuse prevention programs.
There are over 3000 people working in these organizations, of which approximately one third are paid employees. Most workers are volunteers, part of subsidized employment schemes or in apprenticeship. Altogether these programs reach approximately 22,000 clients per year.
The Finnish Blue Ribbon's support services for member organizations is part of our basic operation.
The Finnish Blue Ribbon's consultancy services for all organizations are "ArPa" evaluation services, training relating to the dangers of gambling and research work recarding Christian substance abuse work.
The Finnish Blue Ribbon develops its work mainly through projects. The main focus for the projects is to develop new models and ways to work. Some nation-wide services have also been developed by the projects.
